We are now at the beginning of the second quarter of 2024. Some of us have begun ticking off their “To-Do” list. Some may have progressed by leaps and miles, however, many are probably still in that “planning zone, where your mind is ready but your body is not or the other way around. The many times we procrastinate to do the things we ought to do and do it last minute resulting in us being exasperated in mind and body is a routine that one must break. The many resolutions we had at the beginning of the year seem so far off now even though it’s only April. To put it simply, you lack motivation in this ever-changing world leaving you feeling overwhelmed and stuck in old habits. But fret not, because, with the right strategies and mindset, you can set yourself up for success and truly start your year right, and yes, it doesn’t matter if it’s already April. You do YOU!
How was last year?
Before entering a new battlefield and diving head first into new goals and resolutions, take some time to reflect on the past year. What were your successes and failures? What were your lessons? What were your struggles? What did you do to overcome it? Did it work? Why did it not work? These many questions will help provide you with valuable insights and your new approach for the remaining year ahead.
Be Realistic!
We have direction and something to aim for when we have goals. But it’s crucial to have goals that are both precise and doable. To make your bigger goals more manageable and increase your chances of success, break them down into smaller, more doable steps.
Me, myself, and I
In the daily chaos, self-care frequently suffers from neglect. However, putting yourself first is crucial for starting your year right, not just this year but always. Putting yourself first is important. Period. It doesn’t matter if it’s through exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones, make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine. Remember, you can not give what you don’t have, so start with yourself first.
